Programs Offered

The Farmhouse Preschool has provided quality child care and preschool for over 10 years. Our objective is to provide a developmentally appropriate curriculum to enhance development in the areas of social interaction, large, and small motor, language, self-help, and cognitive skills in a safe and fun environment.

We are licensed and regulated by the State of Texas Department of Family and Protective Services. We provide child care and preschool services to children between the ages of 6 weeks and 5 years old.

INFANTS

We provide a safe and nurturing environment where your infant can grow, explore, and discover. Our loving and well-educated teachers recognize the importance of introducing language, social skills, visual stimulation, sounds and textures into daily routines.

It is during these first formative months that your child will receive the one-on-one attention needed to develop a sense of trust and confidence with the staff that care for them everyday. Our priority for each day is to create a unique and stimulating environment through the use of play, music, language repetition, stories, blocks, toys, movement, and outside activities.

Our teachers use teachable moments to encourage learning and independence, while each young child is given the opportunity to explore using all of their senses.

TODDLERS

We provide a safe and nurturing environment where your toddler can grow, explore, and discover. Each day is filled with fun activities that excite and help toddlers develop in ways that give them the comfort and confidence to grow and develop both cognitively and socially.

Your toddler will be encouraged to develop friendships and interact with others in group activities. We will guide the development of sharing and listening, and how to express emotions appropriately. We will promote self help skills such as feeding, hand washing and dressing; and support large motor development and hand-eye coordination through a variety of activities such as kicking balls, tossing, drawing, and lacing.

We offer a structured, yet flexible daily schedule which includes guided learning activities, which are age appropriate, reading, singing, group time, indoor and outdoor playtime, and naptime.

Toddlers learn with consistency and repetition. It is our goal to build a trusting relationship with each child so that the path to learning is an easier one.

2 Years

Our preschool classroom is the first building block in helping prepare children for kindergarten. We focus on the most basic readiness skills and help with toilet training. By the time children are ready for preschool, they have developed motor control, language, memory, and social abilities. Our program engages this age group with continued development in the areas cited in the description of the Mother Goose Time™ curriculum.

Children in this age group ask many questions – Why? What? How? – full exploration of the themes helps children make sense of the world. At this age, children typically enjoy some playtime with their peers, but they especially need adult affirmation - small classrooms allow the teachers to acknowledge accomplishments. Pretend play may be a strong interest; we give children opportunities to be silly and imaginative. Children at this age have learned how to make simple choices; we reinforce that ability by allowing them to choose between, for example, orange or blue paint. Predictability in routine is important as sudden changes or departure from the norm may be upsetting; though the activities each day may change, the basic structure of each day remains the same. Continued development of both gross and fine motor skills is provided through activities requiring manipulation such as building with blocks, stringing large beads, easel painting, and creating with clay. Though sharing and taking turns may be unfamiliar at first, these concepts are learned throughout the year

5 Years

This classroom builds on skills learned by younger children by incorporating simple addition and subtraction and additional language arts, for example. Art projects may become more complex. By age 5, children generally push for greater autonomy, so they are given the opportunity to make choices in some decisions that affect their day. The five-year-old enjoys practicing intellectual abilities - printing his or her name, writing numbers, spelling familiar words. Most five-year-olds are capable of a higher level of reasoning and learning. An increased interest in science and nature activities and an interest in speculating about the future are likely. Additional time in the Technology Learning Center is made available to this age group.

What our customers are saying

I looked all over cypress for a school that felt like the perfect place for my daughter and I almost decided to enroll her further away after no luck, until I found the farmhouse preschool. This school is absolutely wonderful and I recommend it to everyone I know. My daughter thrives at this school and loves her teachers, classmates and the owners. Such a blessing to find an establishment that truly cares for your child and teaching them to be their best!
